The BetterSelf Coaching approach isn’t about scripts or fixed formulas. Instead, I meet you exactly where you are with authentic presence, emotional intelligence, zero judgment, and genuine warmth. Deep listening is profound engagement that aims to understand your emotions, unspoken needs, and underlying perspectives. We need that invaluable 80% of the conversation. We listen for the hesitation behind the sentence, the emotion between the words, the body language, and the unspoken truths held back by shame, guilt, or simply not yet having language for them.
Deep listening also includes listening to yourself. As I often tell clients, “I often know what I’m thinking when I hear what I’m saying.” It’s more than a clever phrase—it’s a profound truth about self-awareness.
Effective listening has no agenda. It has no place to go or nothing to accomplish but to stay with you in the moment, in the emotion, in your reality—perfect as it already is.
